Guided Star is the work and passion of Tim Brady and Associates.   Founded originally as Guiding Star Consulting in Washington, D.C. in 2003, the practice was reborn as Guided Star in 2005 as it was relocated to Florida, only to return to Frederick, Maryland in 2008.   Tim serves regional Clients in the great Washington Metropolitan area as well as a few national Clients.   Drawing on 30 years of experience and collaborating with Associates, Independent Professionals, and Partner Firms, we provide Marketing, Sales and Business Consulting to Companies large and small.   This flexible, virtual structure allows us to bring together the right resources and level of expertise to complement the needs of the client in a cost-effective manner.  

Our goal is helping you reach your potentials.   If our efforts do not translate into greater revenues, profits, growth, customer/employee retention, or efficiencies, then there is no point to our involvement.   We’ll decide that together and review it often.   By agreeing on specific steps forward in minor increments, you remain in control and able to measure our progress continually.   With the first conversation free, it also makes it easy to get started moving towards realizing that potential.

Bringing in "Consultants" often carries a negative connotation, and we look forward to breaking that perception.   Priced right and appropriately employed, consulting arrangements allow an organization to access talent and experience resources in measured amounts to meet specific organizational needs.  We seek to right-size an engagement from the start, assuring that our work maintains a positive impact.

Tim Brady – A short Bio

Tim grew up in the Washington, D.C. area, his Father retired FBI.   Tim originally studied Photography at Rochester Institute of Technology, but instead found a calling in helping people apply new technologies.   A career spanning 30 years in Marketing, Sales, and Management provides the basis for his work.   Through that, he has provided consultative services to literally thousands of companies, from Fortune 100 to early-stage Start-Ups.  

Tim has held positions in fast-growth technology companies, ranging from dynamic new technology Start-Ups to established $400M Market Leaders.   He has particular experience in the Enterprise Software, Security, Telecommunications, Animation/Simulation Graphics, Hardware/Appliance Sales, Thin Client Computing, Training, Services, and Government Services sectors.   Business structures have included Corporate Division, Small Business, and Franchise operations.

Tim’s Marketing experience ranges from early Market Definition, Brand Creation, Market Planning and Market Differentiation to New Product Introduction and continuing Product Marketing and Product Management.   In Sales, he has been responsible for developing those critical first sales, key reference accounts, initial major accounts, as well as delivering $32M quota assignments in $300M organizations.   He has deep resources in Sales planning, Distribution Sales, Sales Channel Development, Affiliate and Reseller Programs, New Media Advertising, Lead Generation and Contract Sales Services.

The sum of this history, in addition to Tim’s personal development, helped give birth to the core beliefs and principles that have become the foundation for his practice, embodied in our Guided Tenets.   Today, Tim balances life with his family and exceeding the expectations of Guided Star’s Clients.   Keys to that success include always learning, always enjoying the ride, and careful client selection that assures alignment of interest and values.  

 

What Will It Cost?

Guided Star rates and terms are dependent on a number of things.   Predictably, that includes the experience level of who is providing the service, the quantity of services expected to be involved, and the urgency of the delivery.   Maybe unexpectedly, they will include other factors like the client’s ability to pay, how easy the client is to do business with, and if it is fun.  

You'll find an interest in finding small first steps together, allowing us to build on success and good communication.   We want our efforts to be additive at all times, so we'll look to limit your risk.   Please contact us and we're certain it will be easy to find a way to make the relationship work.
